Configure a printer:

This is the starting point to create a new configuration
The process is completely automated on all Epson printers and all the necessary parameters can be preconfigured and pre-calibrated for the selected paper types.
Choosing a printer from the list associated to the appropriate media will create a fully calibrated configuration ready to print (1 click process).
This means that media calibration can be protected because the best quality can be achieved only with that media that has been factory calibrated.
However, new paper types can still be automatically configured for a customer with appropriate instruments to create easily his own media calibration.

Inside color management Calibrate and certify colors

Color management:
From this menu it is possible to calibrate and certificate a printer.
The process is fully automated on printers with specto-photometer on board and semi automated in case of manual instrument
It consist in 5 steps:

  1. Check the number of heads and drops used by the printer
  2. Calculate the maximum ink quantity and the linearization to use with the loaded media using Bruner formula.
  3. Bring the color to a defined density and enlargement through iterated process
  4. Create the ICC Color Profile for the chosen combination of printer and media
  5. Improve the color consistency through an iterated process that bring printer to the certificated state of chosen color space
  6. Color match spot colors using spectral color management to reach unlimited color gamut.
